You are absolutely right that people need individuals to reach out to them, both with personal concern to let them know others care and with material help in small (and sometimes larger) ways.Maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11588695586677501283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1065634132019405929.post-46219206908007259332012-01-05T08:05:02.691-05:002012-01-05T08:05:02.691-05:00Thank you for your response, Cher--your words are ...Thank you for your response, Cher--your words are encouraging. I know, I know. There's that left hand/right hand directive, but it's more about trumpeting accomplishments for selfish gain. Your example of helping someone in need is not selfish at all and should be out there as something to emulate. I wonder sometimes if the "safety nets" we have in this country do more harm than good. Do they dull our sensitivity to people in need? We might tend to think that since the government has programs to help people, we don't need to reach out ourselves, which is totally untrue.walk2writehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13501812375142037251noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1065634132019405929.post-1214397623230601842012-01-05T00:38:34.109-05:002012-01-05T00:38:34.109-05:00*your*yourCherryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05898459781701768602noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1065634132019405929.post-16504597609260670782012-01-05T00:37:56.443-05:002012-01-05T00:37:56.443-05:00i agree Mary. collective small things make a BIG d...i agree Mary. collective small things make a BIG difference. i wrote about my purpose driven blog before and i am happy to keep its mission. :)

God bless you kind heart.
